Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how StatBid Meta SEO (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you install or use the App on your Shopify store.

1. Information we collect

When you install the App, Shopify shares the following with us:

• Your shop domain (e.g. your-store.myshopify.com)
• Your shop's contact and billing information from Shopify
• An OAuth access token authorising the App to read and write the data scopes you granted

When you use the App, we read public metadata about your products, collections, and pages — including names, URLs, current meta titles, and current meta descriptions. We do not read or store data about your end-customers, orders, payments, or any personally identifiable information about shoppers.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate your shop's session with Shopify
• Scan your catalog and identify metadata issues (missing titles, duplicates, length problems, etc.)
• Generate AI-written meta titles and descriptions on your request
• Push approved drafts back to Shopify when you choose to publish

The product, collection, and page metadata you scan is sent to a third-party AI provider for the sole purpose of generating draft suggestions. The AI provider does not retain inputs or use them to train its models.

3. Sharing your information

We share your information with the following service providers, only to the extent necessary to operate the App:

• Shopify — to authenticate, read, and write store data.
• Google Cloud Platform (App Engine) — to host the App.
• Our AI provider — to generate draft text on your request.

We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

4. Data retention

We retain your shop domain, OAuth session, and generated drafts for as long as the App remains installed. When you uninstall the App, the app/uninstalled webhook triggers a purge of our active session and shop record. Forty-eight hours later, the shop/redact webhook triggers a final purge of any remaining data.

We do not store end-customer data, so the customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks do not require us to take action — we acknowledge them and log receipt for compliance.

5. Your rights

Subject to your local laws (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of that data
• Withdraw consent and uninstall the App at any time

6. Cookies

The App uses session cookies set by Shopify's App Bridge for authentication. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

7. Children's privacy

The App is intended for Shopify merchants, not children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects when the most recent change was made. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
